Electric Chopper Buying Guide – Inalsa Bullet, Clearline Quad Pro, Agaro: Prices in Chandigarh

An electric chopper is the gadget people buy on a whim and then use every single day – onions, garlic, ginger, coriander, dry fruits for kheer, and this month, the nuts for Diwali sweets. It is also one of the best small gifts under ₹2,000. Here are the choppers we keep at New Jaspal Electricals, Chandigarh, with today's prices.
The choppers we stock
Inalsa Bullet Inox mini chopper 450 W – ₹1,900 – 450 W, steel bowl, two-level blade. The one we recommend first; handles 3–4 onions at a time and is easy to wash.
Inalsa Multi Chop PC – ₹1,800 – larger polycarbonate bowl, same motor.
Clearline Quad Pro+ Maxi chopper – ₹2,400 – a 4-blade 'quad' cutter and a bigger bowl for a joint family.
Clearline SuperChop 300 W – ₹1,300 – 300 W, the cheapest chopper with a proper motor.
Clearline Nitro Blend chopper-blender 1200 W – ₹2,370 – chopper plus blending jar; chutney and lassi from one base.
Agaro Elegant 400 W chopper – ₹1,550 – 400 W glass bowl, looks good on a counter.
Agaro Elite rechargeable mini chopper – ₹680 – USB-rechargeable mini chopper for garlic, chilli and ginger; a fun ₹680 gift.
Chopper or hand blender?
A chopper gives you pieces – coarse to fine depending on pulses. A hand blender gives you a paste or purée. If you want onion for a bhuna masala you need a chopper; if you want tomato purée or a soup you need a blender like the Philips HL1655/02 hand blender 250 W – ₹1,599 with its chopper attachment. Many kitchens end up with both.
How to use one well
Quarter the onions first; the blade cannot start on a whole one.
Pulse – press, release, press – instead of holding the button, or onion turns to water.
Do not fill past the line; chop in two batches.
Wash the bowl and blade at once; dried onion is what makes a chopper smell.
Spares
The blade assembly and the bowl are the parts that wear, and we keep both for Inalsa and Clearline – and the Philips chopper knives and couplings for the older HR1350/HR1351/HR1600 models that are still in thousands of Chandigarh kitchens.
