Genuine Philips air fryer basket for HD9200 / HD9252

A Philips air fryer has very few parts that ever fail: the basket and pan, the grill plate, the lamp, the knob or timer, and – rarely – the fan motor. The good news is that Philips sells each of these as a genuine spare, and because we stock them for the models we sell, most repairs cost a fraction of a new fryer. Here is what goes wrong, how to prevent it, and the exact part for each Philips model.

1. Basket / inner pan – coating worn, handle loose

The non-stick coating on the basket is the first thing to go: scratched by metal tongs, dulled by scouring pads, or cooked off by running the fryer empty. A worn basket sticks and is harder to clean but the fryer itself is fine. The basket release button can also break if the basket is lifted by the pan instead of the handle.

Care: wash the basket in warm soapy water with a soft sponge as soon as it cools; a 10-minute soak dissolves baked-on oil. Silicone or wooden tools only. If food sticks, a thin brush of oil before cooking is enough – do not spray aerosol cooking sprays, which leave a gum that ruins the coating.

2. Grill plate / starfish plate

On the NA-series the removable grill plate sits in the pan; on the HD-series it is the ‘starfish’ plate. They get bent when dropped or lose their coating over years. Sold separately:

3. Timer, knob and control panel

On the analogue HD9200 / NA120 the mechanical timer is the only moving control – if it stops ticking or does not spring back, the timer assembly is replaced as a unit. Cracked or slipping knobs are a two-minute fix.

4. Lamp

The internal lamp on the window models (NA221, NA231) burns out after a few years or goes dark if the fryer is used with the basket half-out. Lamp assembly for NA221 / NA231 – ₹315.

5. Fan motor – fryer heats but no air movement

If the heater glows but you hear no fan, or the fan is very loud and the food browns only on top, the motor unit needs replacing. It is the most expensive part but still well under half the price of a new fryer, and it is a plug-in module on the NA-series.

Smoke, smell and other non-faults

  • White smoke with fatty food (chicken skin, kebabs) is grease hitting the heater. Add 2 spoons of water to the pan under the basket; it stops the smoke.

  • Burning smell on a new fryer for the first 2–3 uses is normal – run it empty for 10 minutes at 180 °C once before first use.

  • Fryer switches off mid-cycle: the basket is not pushed fully in (the safety switch), or the timer ran out. On the digital models, check that the display shows the timer counting.

  • Food not crisp: the basket is overfilled. Cook in a single layer and shake halfway; 80 % of ‘my air fryer does not crisp’ complaints are this.

Ordering the right part

The model number is on the sticker underneath the fryer (HD9252/70, NA130/00 and so on). The suffix matters for baskets: HD9252/70 and /90 use the same basket, but the HD9257 uses a deeper pot. Send us the model number and a photo of the part on WhatsApp 98550 13127 and we will confirm before dispatch – genuine Philips / Versuni parts with a GST invoice, couriered anywhere in India or collected at Sector 38-C.
